After 1453, Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror had a complex built around Hagia Sophia.

It was the first independent madrasa (Islamic school) in Istanbul.

In the Islamic world, many lessons were given in the mosque of the madrasa complex.

Most of its lessons were held in the Hagia Sophia Mosque.

It is also known that some renowned scholars gave lessons in Hagia Sophia.

The madrasa, minaret, tomb, ablution area, fountain, library, soup kitchen, sultan's private chamber, sultan's hall, and clock tower were built within the complex.

It was built by Mehmed the Conqueror.

It is the first madrasa in Istanbul.

The Hagia Sophia Madrasa was rebuilt in 2022 and allocated to Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University for scientific education.
