A full day with your guide in the Julian Alps. In 45 minutes you reach Lake Bled, its emerald water framed by mountains and crowned by the church on Slovenia's only natural island. After a lakeside walk, a traditional wooden pletna boat rowed standing, as it has been for centuries — takes you to the island, where you can climb the 99 steps and ring the wishing bell. Lunch is at leisure; do not miss the original Bled cream cake. In the afternoon visit Bled Castle, perched on a cliff 130 m above the lake, with the most famous view in Slovenia.

Check out and travel to the Karst. At Postojna Cave an underground train carries you deep into a 24 km system of halls and dripstone formations shaped over millions of years - home of the olm, the "human fish". Continue to Lipica, home of the Lipizzaner horse since 1580, for a guided tour of the historic stud farm and a horse-drawn carriage ride across the estate. In the late afternoon you reach the Adriatic; after check-in at MEMENTO B&B, stroll through Piran: Tartini Square, the Venetian House and St George's Church above the sea.
