8 Day Egypt Tour: Cairo, Giza Pyramids, Luxor & Ancient Thebes

After breakfast, meet your Egyptologist guide at the hotel and begin your journey through ancient Egypt.

Your first stop is the Step Pyramid of Saqqara, one of the earliest monumental stone structures in the world and an important milestone in ancient Egyptian architecture.

Afterwards, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to the legendary Giza Plateau. Discover the magnificent Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), the only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World, and learn about the remarkable achievements of ancient Egyptian civilization.

Guests who wish may also choose an optional camel ride around the Giza Plateau.

Continue to the iconic Great Sphinx of Giza, one of Egypt’s most recognizable ancient monuments.

Before returning to the hotel, visit a Papyrus Institute to learn about traditional papyrus-making techniques and the role papyrus played in recording ancient Egyptian history.

Dinner is at your own leisure.

After breakfast, meet your guide at the hotel and begin another day of sightseeing in Cairo.

Visit the Egyptian Museum, home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts. Your guide will highlight some of the museum’s most significant exhibits, including statues, sarcophagi, mummies, ancient tools, chariots, jewelry and everyday objects that offer a fascinating insight into life in ancient Egypt.

Continue to Khan El Khalili Bazaar in Islamic Cairo, where you will enjoy lunch at a local café or restaurant. Afterwards, take some free time to explore the narrow streets, browse traditional handicrafts and souvenirs, and experience the lively atmosphere of this historic marketplace.

Later in the day, transfer to Cairo International Airport for your evening flight to Aswan.

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and check in.

After breakfast, begin your Nile Cruise experience in Aswan.

Take a motorboat to Agilkia Island to visit the beautiful Philae Temple, dedicated primarily to the goddess Isis. Explore the temple complex and learn about its ancient religious significance as well as its remarkable relocation during the construction of the Aswan High Dam.

After the visit, return to your Nile cruise and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

In the evening, you may choose to explore the Aswan markets, where you can browse local handicrafts, spices, souvenirs and traditional products.

Sail along the Nile to Kom Ombo and visit the remarkable Temple of Kom Ombo, an unusual double temple built during the Ptolemaic period.

The temple is uniquely dedicated to two deities: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Haroeris (Horus the Elder). Explore its symmetrical design, carved reliefs and fascinating religious history overlooking the Nile.

After the visit, return to the cruise and continue sailing toward Edfu.

Today, explore the legendary West Bank of Luxor, beginning with the Valley of the Kings, where the tombs of many New Kingdom pharaohs were carved deep into the surrounding cliffs.

Step inside selected royal tombs and admire the remarkable wall paintings and hieroglyphs depicting religious rituals, offerings to the gods and scenes connected with the journey to the afterlife.

Guests may also choose to visit the Tomb of Tutankhamun with a separate entrance ticket.

Continue with a photo stop at the monumental Colossi of Memnon, the two massive statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III.

Next, visit the impressive Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, one of the most distinctive monuments of ancient Egypt and a powerful reminder of Hatshepsut’s extraordinary reign as pharaoh.

Start the day with an optional hot air balloon ride over Luxor’s West Bank, offering panoramic views of the Nile, ancient temples and the surrounding landscape.

After breakfast, visit the impressive Karnak Temple Complex, one of the largest and most important religious sites of ancient Egypt. Continue to the elegant Luxor Temple, located on the East Bank of the Nile and closely connected with the ancient city of Thebes.

Later in the afternoon, transfer to Luxor Airport for your flight back to Cairo.

Upon arrival in Cairo, meet your representative and transfer to your hotel for check-in.
