THE GOBI DESERT
The Gobi Desert is a east zone of desert and desert steppe covering almost 30 percent of the Mongolian territory. The area is often imagined as a lifeless desert like in many other parts of the world. In reality, most part of the Gobi Desert is a land of steppes and it is the home for camel breeders rich with wildlife and vegetation. Wild asses, camels, snow leopards, mountain sheep and gazelles flourish here, as do different types of flora.Dinosaur skeletons and their petrified eggs have been preserved here to the present day. Mongolians consider that there are 33 different Gobi, where sandy desert occupies only 3 percent of the total territory. Climate is extreme with 40 degrees Celcius in summer and severe winter. The Great Gobi Reservation established in 1975 was designated by the United Nations as the fourth largest Biosphere Reserve in the world in 1991. One and a half hour’s travel by plane. Located 600 km from Ulaanbaatar, in foothills of the Altai mountains at an altidude of 1521 metres above sea level. Two areas have been set aparlin the reserve. One, spreading over 44/9 hectares, claims the largest part of the Trans-Altai Gobi, the other, covering 881000 hectares is within the Dungar Gobi.
This tour has possible to organize between may and October . You will go to Umnugovi province It is on the south of Mongolia . You will see the Mongolian Gobi. This tour will be very interesting if you will goes a long , on the way you will see the steppe and ancient church . Also you will see the rare animals include “Bacterian camel and dinosaur fossils”.

Itinerary
Day- 1 We'll start with a full day trip to the Baga
Gazriin Chuluu Ruins(1768 m from sea level).
We’ll drive 255km). On the way
we'll stop for lunch. At this ruins
there are mineral water springs and trees a top the many beautiful rocky hills. We'll
spend the night in tents or nomadic ger.
We’ll drive to the Tsagaan Suvraga and spend overnight at Ger. Tsagaan Suvraga one of the white colored cliffs for hiking area.
We camping in ger camp “Tsagaan suvraga”
We’ll do a full day trip driving to Dalanzadgad( capital city of South Gobi) and We’ll drive to the Yoliin Am in the middle of the gobi desert National Park which is a strictly protected area, covering 70 sq.kms. On the way we’ll stop for lunch at huge flat steppe. The mountains here are the highest in the Gobi Desert and the rocky scenery is quite interesting, especially until mid July while the ice gorge remains.We’ll walk 3kms through a narrow valley, then 3 kms back to the minivan. We’ll stay in Guesthouse. B,L,D
We’ll drive to the Khongoryn Els Sand (195kms) after lunch time. The Khongoryn Els are some of the lagest and most spectacular sand dunes in Mongolia.We’ll see beautiful views, huge sand dunes and a cold water spring with a river that leads to two small ponds. We’ll then spend the night in a Guesthouse. B,L,D
We’ll climb and hike to the top of the biggest sand dunes. Also, if you wish, you may walk alongside the river for about 10 kms. We arrange the camel riding trip on the serious sand dunes. We overnight in guesthouse.
We’ll drive to Bayan-Zag(150kms). When we arrive at Bayan-Zag, spend the night in tents or Ger. Bayan-Zag which means “rich in Saxaul Shrubs” is more commonly known as the “Flaming Cliffs” of Bayan-Zag, famous for the discovery of dinosaur fossils. We stay in “Dino” guesthouse.
After dinner we drive to Dalanzadgad. Today we fly to Ulaanbaatar. We stay at Hotel of Ulaanbaatar city. Today we see “tsagaan lavai” national concert.
We transfer to Chinggis khaan international airport.
