11 Day Sri Lanka Train Tour

Continue to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya, Sri Lanka’s largest botanical garden. Spread across approximately 147 acres, the gardens are home to around 4,000 plant species, including orchids, palms, medicinal plants, and tropical trees.

After breakfast, transfer to Kandy Railway Station and begin one of Sri Lanka’s most memorable hill-country experiences: the scenic train journey from Kandy to Nanu Oya.

Travel through mist-covered mountains, rolling tea plantations, valleys, and waterfalls as the train climbs into Sri Lanka’s central highlands.

Upon arrival at Nanu Oya, continue by road to Nuwara Eliya, a cool-climate hill town often known as “Little England” for its colonial character, gardens, and scenic mountain setting.

Begin the day with an early morning Yala National Park safari, one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic wildlife experiences.

Yala National Park is known for its diverse landscapes of dry forests, grasslands, lagoons, wetlands, and coastal habitats. The park is home to one of the highest leopard densities in the world, along with Asian elephants, sloth bears, spotted deer, sambar, wild boar, buffalo, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birdlife.

Begin the day with an early morning whale and dolphin watching tour in Mirissa, one of Sri Lanka’s best-known marine wildlife destinations.

The waters off Sri Lanka’s southern coast are visited by several cetacean species, including blue whales, sperm whales, Bryde’s whales, fin whales, bottlenose dolphins, common dolphins, and spinner dolphins.
