Karadeniz Eregli Museum (Zonguldak)

Karadeniz Eregli Museum was opened in 1998 after ten years of restoration. It is situated in the Black Sea region's Eregli district of Zonguldak Province. It has been known that the mansion was built by Sanjak-bey (a high-ranking Ottoman officer) Halil Pasha in the 1870s. The mansion is a classic ottoman style and it was built on the ruins of a church. The museum's first floor houses a collection of archeological artifacts from the Hellenistic, Byzantine, and Ottoman periods. The second floor is the ethnographic section, where various local and traditional garments, jewelry, and tools for daily life can be seen. The grave monument of Roman pantomime artist Krispos, which probably dates back to the 2nd or 3rd century BC, can be visited in the garden.
