Mugla Museum

The Mugla Museum was opened in 1994 in an old prison building in the city center. In 1992, many animal and plant fossils were unearthed in the archaeological excavations of Ozluce Village, Kaklicatepe. These works were exhibited for the first time in 1994 here and Turkey's first natural history museum by this way was established here. Later, the artifacts found in the excavations in the ancient city of Stratonikeia in the Yatagan district were later brought here and added to the museum collection. Today, all these fossils and historical artifacts can be seen in the museum.
