The Bergama Museum

The Bergama Museum contains the artifacts that were found in the Bergama archaeological excavations, which started in 1878. The architects were Bruno Meyer and Harold Hanson. The museum was built through cooperation between Turkey and Germany. In 1979, the ethnographic section, warehouse, laboratory, photography room, and archive sections were added. A model of the Pergamon Zeus Altar, Archaic Period findings from Pitane and Gryneion, and Myrina terracottas can be seen in the archaeological section, and carpets, rugs, fabric weaving samples, and various handicrafts can be seen in the ethnography section.
