The Justinianus Bridge

The Justinianus Bridge is a stone bridge located on the Melas stream in Sakarya. It was built between 558 and 560 AD by the Byzantine Emperor Justinianus. The bridge is 365 meters long and almost 10 meters wide, with 12 arches in total. It has been listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List since 2018, and it is one of the most splendid architectural artifacts from the Byzantine period in Anatolia.
