Varagavank (The Seven Churches)

Varagavank monastery, called the Seven Churches, was founded in the 11th century by the Armenian King Senekerim-Hovhannes Artsruni on a former religious site. Once, it was the seat of the archbishop of the Armenian Church in the city. Varagavank monastery was described as one of the great monastic centers in the region and the most celebrated monastery in the city. The ruins can be visited.
