This is an event held annually from December 7th to 17th.
The event, called Şeb-i Arus, celebrates Mevlana's union with God.
Every year, whirling dervishes perform Sema dances on these dates.
Sema performances are held primarily in Konya, but also at the Galata Mevlevi Lodge and the Yenikapı Mevlevi Lodge in Istanbul.
Şeb-i Arus is a celebration of Mevlana's union with God.
Şeb means night.
Arus means bride.
To summarize, Şeb-i Arus means "bride's night."
It invites us to this event, drawing inspiration from Mevlana's words, "Whatever you are, come again."
Various events are held every year as part of Şeb-i Arus from December 7th to 17th.
One of these is the Sema performances.
These kinds of events are held at the Yenikapı Mevlevi Lodge and the Galata Mevlevi Lodge. It best explains the principle of "We came from God, and we will return to God."
Various conferences are also organized.
Interviews with various scholars are held, and Mevlana's understanding of knowledge and his love for God are explained.
Mevlana's seven pieces of advice warn us:
1. Be like a flowing river in generosity and helping others.
2. Be like the sun in compassion and mercy.
3. Be like the night in covering the faults of others.
4. Be like the dead in anger and irritability.
5. Be like the earth in humility and modesty.
6. Be like the sea in tolerance.
7. Either appear as you are, or be as you appear.
With the wish to understand Mevlana…
