1 Day Gorilla Trekking Experience – Volcanoes National Park

Experience one of Africa’s most unique wildlife encounters with a gorilla trekking adventure in Volcanoes National Park. This guided day trip takes you into the forested slopes of the Virunga mountains to observe endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. 

Your day begins with an early pick up from Kigali, followed by a scenic drive to Kinigi for registration and briefing at the park headquarters. Here, you will meet experienced rangers who will guide you through the trekking process and provide important safety information.

The trek takes you through rainforest trails and bamboo zones, with the duration depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once located, you will spend up to one hour observing the gorillas as they interact, feed, and move naturally in their environment.

After the trek, enjoy a relaxed lunch in Musanze before returning to Kigali in the afternoon.

Important Information:

Minimum age for trekking is 15 years

All visitors must attend the mandatory morning briefing

Early departure 4:30 am from Kigali is required for timely arrival
