Itinerary

Your international flight should arrive at Viru Viru Airport in Santa Cruz, where you will connect to a flight to Sucre. Your guide will welcome you at the airport in Sucre and transfer you to your hotel. In the afternoon, after lunch, we will take a tour to visit the main museums in this historic city. We will visit the ASUR textile museum, where original fabrics are on display; San Felipe de Neri, a former convent, now a school and viewpoint; the Monastery of La Recoleta, a viewpoint; and the House of Liberty, where Bolivia's declaration of independence was signed.
*This day must be a Saturday, as the Tarabuco market is only held on Sundays.
We leave early for Tarabuco. After a 2-hour drive, we will arrive at the Sunday market, a meeting place for locals who exchange products (barter) and sell food, textiles, and other items. Here, we will observe the traditional clothing of the locals, colorful handmade fabrics that typically represent the identity of each community. We will undoubtedly experience the authenticity of the region's culture.
After lunch at a restaurant, we will visit the Amay Wasi craft center in Tarabuco to learn about the dyeing and weaving process, and we will learn to weave with our own hands.

We bid farewell to Sucre and head to PotosĂ, a historic city that was very important during colonial times. It was the center of exploitation of Cerro Rico, considered one of the richest sources of silver in history. We will walk through the streets of the city center and have lunch. Then we will visit the Casa de la Moneda, where we will discover the history of ancient coin manufacturing. At the end of the visit, we will depart for Uyuni in private transportation.

We depart from Uyuni to the salt flats in a 4Ă—4 vehicle. We begin our adventure with a stop at the Train Cemetery, an unusual landscape of disused locomotives. We continue to the town of Colchani, where salt is processed using traditional methods, and visit a salt processing plant. We enter the Uyuni salt flats and stop at Incahuasi Island. From its summit, surrounded by giant cacti, we can appreciate the surprising expanse of the salt sea and see the majestic Tunupa Volcano. We will then enjoy lunch in the middle of the salt flats. Afterwards, we will head to the town of Coquesa where we will participate in an activity with the local community, learn about the cultivation and harvesting of quinoa, the art of weaving and dyeing, and we will be able to walk with llamas on the edges of the salt flats. Finally, we will watch the sunset and head to the hotel.

After breakfast, we will depart for the town of Chiquini. We will visit the “Museo de La Llamita” (Llamita Museum), observe salt blocks and sculptures, and enter the Chiquini cave, where we will discover magnificent calcified magma formations.
Then we will head to the volcano viewpoint and begin a short 15-minute walk to see the Coquesa Mummies, mummified bodies from the time of the Aymara lords.
We arrive at the bus terminal in La Paz and check into the hotel.
Free morning.
In the afternoon, we leave the hotel to begin our tour of the city. We will head to the Valley of the Moon, a beautiful geological formation located near the city that resembles a lunar landscape. Upon arrival, we take a 15-20 minute walk. At the end of the visit, we begin a cable car ride, during which we enjoy incredible views of the city built between mountains. Then we head to Plaza Murillo, surrounded by the country's political establishments and the Government Palace. We will continue to Calle de las Brujas, a street where amulets and esoteric objects related to the Andean worldview and culture are sold. At the end of the tour, we will return to the hotel.
On this day, we will have a unique activity in the community of Milluni where we will learn how to dye fabrics and make small crafts. Before starting the activities, we will dress in “cholita” clothing, the traditional dress of the region, and then we will begin our activities.
We will learn how to dye sheep's wool, weave a small bracelet, and make crafts with wool, which you can take home with you.
Then we will have lunch, which will be a dish made with llama meat.
After lunch, we will get ready to go to the Milluni cemetery and take pictures. Then we will go down to the mine and enter until we find “El Tío,” a deity who is believed to have the power to protect miners.
After the tour of the mine, we will return to the community to change clothes and get ready to head back to the city.
Upon arrival, we will rest for a moment at the hotel and then go out again to enjoy dinner while watching a live show of national dance and music.

Departure from the hotel to the pre-Inca site of Tiwanaku, where the archaeological remains express the great knowledge and technology possessed by the Tiwanaku people. They worshipped the Sun God “Wiracocha” and Mother Earth “Pachamama,” facts that we can see reflected in their constructions. Among these, the Gate of the Sun, the different monoliths, the temples of Kalasasaya, Akapana, and the Semi-Subterranean Temple stand out.
After lunch, we will head to Tuni, a town located at the foot of the Cordillera Real mountain range, where we will be welcomed by the families of the community.
In the evening, we will enjoy a traditional Andean evening. A musical group from the neighboring town of Chuñawi will spend the evening with us. This will be an opportunity to dance and chat around the fire.

In the morning, after a traditional breakfast of buñuelos (a type of doughnut) and api (a delicious hot drink made from purple corn), we will accompany the llamas and alpacas to their pastures. Then we will set off for a few hours to the Condoriri massif with our guide, who will show us the medicinal and nutritious plants used by the Aymaras. On this hike, we will visit an active ten mine at over 4500 m (depending on the physical condition of the participants and the time available).

After breakfast in the peaceful highland community of Tuni, we begin our return journey to La Paz. As we descend from the majestic landscapes of the Cordillera Real back into the vibrant energy of the city, you will once again be welcomed by the dramatic scenery that defines Bolivia’s administrative capital. Upon arrival and hotel check-in, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure—whether relaxing after the previous days of adventure, exploring nearby streets, or simply savoring your final moments in this fascinating Andean metropolis.

After breakfast at your hotel, and depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the International Airport for your connection. At the end of your trip, you will take away unforgettable memories of colonial cities, ancestral traditions, impressive salt flats, and authentic encounters with the community. Bolivia leaves a lasting impression, rich in culture, history, and natural beauty, until the day you return once again.
