2 DAYS MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREKKING IN RWANDA

Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our driver guide and treated to a road breakfast or lunch, depending on your arrival time. Later, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial; an important site of remembrance and learning that honors the victims of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. From there, enjoy a scenic 2-hour drive to Musanze, home to Volcanoes National Park.

Upon arrival, immerse yourself in the local culture at the Gorilla Guardians Village, where you’ll meet Rwandan locals and experience their traditions and customs. Dinner and overnight at your selected lodge.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking

Begin your day early with a 4:30 AM departure to Volcanoes National Park headquarters. While enjoying a cup of freshly brewed Rwandan coffee, you’ll receive a briefing from park rangers about trekking guidelines and group allocations.

Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, embark on an exhilarating trek through the lush rainforest a haven for golden monkeys, colorful birds, and magnificent mountain gorillas. Once you locate a gorilla family, you’ll have the rare privilege of spending one hour observing them in their natural habitat. After this once-in-a-lifetime encounter, return from the forest for lunch before heading back to Kigali for your evening departure or hotel drop-off.
