About this tour
Spend three days and two nights deep in the Okavango Delta, a vast inland river delta in northern Botswana whose grassy plains flood seasonally and become a lush wildlife habitat. Glide through quiet waterways by traditional mokoro (dugout canoe) with a professional guide and poler, set up camp on a remote island, and explore on foot with guided game walks. Hippos, elephants and crocodiles can be seen along the channels, while the surrounding land is home to wildlife such as lions, leopards, giraffes and rhinos. Camp meals, drinks and en-suite dome tents are included, and the safari starts and ends in Maun.

What makes this tour special
Itinerary
After breakfast, your guides will pick you up from your accommodation in Maun. Following a short briefing, travel by 4x4 to Mokoro Station, where you’ll meet your professional guide and mokoro poler. After another briefing, board your mokoro and glide through the waterways of the Okavango Delta toward a campsite on one of its islands.
Enjoy several hours surrounded by the Delta’s vast waterways and natural scenery before reaching camp. Once the camp is set up, head out for an afternoon game walk, then return to camp for dinner.
Meals and drinks
Light afternoon lunch: Sandwich, a piece of chicken, a boiled egg, juice and fruit.
Dinner: Three courses: soup, a main course and dessert.
Drinks: 3 litres of bottled water per person per day, fruit juice at breakfast, wine with dinner, and a limited supply of local soft drinks, beer and cider. A cooler box and ice can be provided if you bring extra drinks.
Wake at around 6:30 AM and enjoy an early breakfast of tea or coffee, cereal and rusks before setting out with your guides for a four-hour morning game walk. Return to camp at around 10:00 AM for a hearty brunch.
Spend some time relaxing at camp or ask your guides whether a swim is possible in a safe, approved area. In the afternoon, board a mokoro for a peaceful cruise through another part of the Okavango Delta and experience its waterways from a different perspective. Return to camp for dinner.
