- Yanar Dag (Burning Mountain): Located just outside Baku, this natural gas fire has been burning continuously for centuries. It’s a fascinating sight and a testament to Azerbaijan’s historical connection with fire.
- Baku’s Modern Architecture: Beyond the Flame Towers, Baku is filled with impressive modern structures like the futuristic Baku Crystal Hall and the ultra-modern Baku Convention Center.
- Azerbaijan Carpet Museum: Located on the Boulevard, this museum showcases the rich tradition of Azerbaijani carpet weaving. The building itself is shaped like a rolled-up carpet, making it a visual treat.
Itinerary
Arrival in Baku. After our arrival, we leave the airport and begin our Baku city tour. We begin our city tour with the Old City (İçişehir) which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000. After reaching the Old City, our first stop is the Shirvan Shah Palace built by Ibrahim Khalilullah in the 15th century. Then, the Maiden's Castle, which has a history of 2500 years, and the Friday Mosque are among the main works we will see. Then, we complete our city tour by visiting the Bukhara and Multani Caravanserais. After our city tour, transfer to our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel in the morning, we begin our Absheron Peninsula tour. Among the main places we will visit on the Absheron Peninsula, we will see the Ateshgah Architectural Complex, one of the Three Zoroastrian Temples in the World. This structure, which is quite interesting and whose fire has not gone out for centuries, is one of the main places of pilgrimage according to the Zoroastrian belief. After our visit to the ateshgah, we will visit the volcano that the famous traveler Marco Polo called the “Land of Fire”. The volcano has a total area of 65 hectares and has been burning for centuries due to the effect of natural gas coming out of the ground. After completing our tour, we will have lunch at our leisure and then transfer to our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel in the morning, we will start our Gobustan & Mud Volcanoes & Heydar Aliyev Museum tour. We set off towards Gobustan, which is the richest region in Azerbaijan in terms of archaeological artifacts and is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, located 70 km south of Baku. Located on the old Shirvan road near the Caspian Sea, Gobustan is also called an open-air museum. This place provides important information about prehistoric and medieval society life, hunting, animals and vegetation with its carved rocks and pictured stones all over the world. Then we take a tour of the Heydar Aliyev Museum. After our tour, we transfer to our hotel.
After the rooms are vacated early in the morning, we transfer to the airport with our private vehicle.
