Pistachio Harvest, Gather Your Own Pistachio
Because of the suitable climate in Anatolia, most of the Turkish pistachio trees grow in this region.
However, various types of pistachio trees are found in different parts of the country, such as the Mediterranean, Aegean coastal lines. Almost 56 provinces in Turkey produce pistachios. There are only five popular provinces as the main Turkish pistachio suppliers, namely, Gaziantep, Sanliurfa, Adiyaman, Kahramanmaras, and Siirt.
Itinerary
Today we will meet at the airport and take the Sanliurfa flight. Sanliurfa is a city of huge religious significance, according to both Christian and Muslim sources. Abraham received his summons from God to take himself and his family to Canaan while living in Urfa.,
After arrival we will transfer to restaurant for breakfast, we are sure you had never taste this kind of breakfast before.
Tour will start with The Cave of Abraham; (today’s pilgrimage and worshipping place), according to the local legend, it was here that Abraham was born, spending the first ten years of his life hiding, because a local Assyrian tyrant Nemrut, had the decreed that all new born children be killed. Then Halil – ür Rahman Complex; in accordance with traditions this is a holly place, housing a mosque and two pools filled with sacred carps which is the one that saved Abraham from a fiery end.
You can do local hot pepper (isot) weaving end other shopping while visit the Gumruk Han, which is one of the symbols of Urfa and where many TV series sets are set up.
Lunch will be athe local restaurant.
After lunch break in a local restaurant, you will be visiting the New Sanliurfa Archeological Museum. The Museum etnrance starts with the zero point in history with the Göbeklitepe findings and as you walk through the museum you will be traveling in time archeologically up to Roman period . This Museum consist of two separate parts , almost like a museum within a museum, since the discovery of Halepli Garden mosaics
are within Museum garden’s premises in its original location of discovery. The Museum visit will take at least two hours. Then transfer to hotel for overnight.

After breakfast we will depart to pistachio farm specially reserve to us for harvest. We are sure this will your first experience cause we will take tractors for going to farm. Together with the local people, we will learn how to collect pistachios in the fields, what are the processes after harvesting, and then we will enjoy the harvest. After all we will transfer to scorching plant and see the transactions here. You will have chance to buy your own harvest.
Drive to Halfeti and lunch will at the restaurant by the lake, then we will go on our boat tour, which will take about 1 hour.
Halfeti is a nice little village on the shores of Euphrates. We will go upstream to Rumkale and the sunken village with the minaret of the mosque sticking out of the water. You will be impressed by the scenery along the way. After the boat tour, we will take a short walk in Degirmendere Valley, which has a magnificent view and nature. Crossing the suspension bridge built over the river, we reach the place that the pool was built by the District Governor's Office. After the tour drive to hotel in Sanliurfa.

Today we will visit the most important archaeological sites, Gobeklitepe, 12,000 years old, predates Stonehenge and the Pyramids by 6,500 years and is a wonder to behold. This site has built before the advent of writing or pottery and is believed to be the world's oldest temple. Recently declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2018.
Then we will drive to Harran, which is one of the world's oldest cities, and was the home of the prophet Abraham/Ibrahim, as referenced several times in the Bible. Later an important stop on the Silk Road, Harran has been an important centre since Mesopotamian times. Due to the hot climate here, the city has become known for its "beehive homes", which have a high domed roof and thick walls built from mud, specially designed to keep cool inside. Harran is also well known for its blue fabrics.
You will also have a chance to see the ruins of a madrassa (Islamic institution of higher education) belonging to the 12th century have been unearthed in the archaeological site of Harran, located in the southeastern province of Şanlıurfa.

After our open buffet breakfast at the hotel, we get on the bus and reach the Baldibis Birds Conservation Center in Birecik district. Baldibis birds are an endangered bird species in all over the world. One of the last two populations in the world is in Morocco, Africa and the other is in Turkey, Birecik. They are living and breeds in the Breeding Station located on the banks of the Euphrates and established by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
After that we will drive to Gaziantep and have our lunch. Ofcourse the first thing comes to mind about Gaziantep is Baklava thats why before lunch we will visit the kitchen, meet
with the cook and learn how to make Baklava with pistachio. Then start to explore Gaziantep from Bey Mahallesi, one of the oldest neighborhoods of the city.
You will witness the history while visiting the streets that contain Antep houses, made by old stone and woodwork.
During our trip to the past, we will stop by an old Armenian mansion to relieve our tiredness, and taste the local menengic coffee. We take a lunch break and taste the famous Gaziantep cuisine.
Then we arrive at the Culinary Museum, which was built in 1905, also known as Kethüdazade Chest İbrahim Pasha Mansion. After seeing the works of Gaziantep cuisine, we pass to the Tütüncü Han and see the junctions of the man-made channels of the old underground water distribution networks. Then we will reach Tahmis Coffee Shop the symbols of Antep, dated back to 1620’s during Sultan 4th. Murat.
We will also visit the Coppersmiths' Bazaar, Almacilar's Bazaar, Fistikcilar's Bazaar, and Zincirli Bedesten. You will enjoy in these colorful bazaars with the smell of tomato paste, dry pepper, different type of spices. And
After dinner transfer to airport for domestic flight.
