What makes this tour special
Itinerary
You will be welcomed at the Iquitos Airport and taken to the office for a short briefing about your Amazon stay. Then you’ll travel by speedboat on the Amazon River to the Lodge, stopping at Monkey Island to see rescued monkeys living freely. After arriving at the lodge, enjoy a welcome drink, check in, and have lunch. In the afternoon, take a guided jungle walk in the Yanamono rainforest to see plants, birds, and possibly monkeys. After relaxing at the lodge, take an evening boat ride to enjoy the peaceful sounds of the jungle, see stars and moonlight, and return to the lodge to rest.

Start your day early with birdwatching by boat, looking for different Amazon birds like the kingfisher and hawk. After breakfast at the lodge, visit a riverside village of the Yaguas people to see how they live, fish, farm, and go to school. In the afternoon, go fishing in a small river and maybe catch a piranha to cook for dinner. You might also see a pink river dolphin. At night, take a short walk near the lodge to see jungle animals that come out in the dark, like frogs, snakes, and owls, and hear the special sounds of the night.

After breakfast, take a boat ride to a lake on Yanamono Island to see the Giant Water Lily, called Victoria Amazonica. These huge plants grow in shallow water and can be white or pink depending on when they bloom. Their big round leaves are strong and can even hold a small child. After lunch at the lodge, explore more of Yanamono Island, where you’ll see trees with big roots, floating plants, and special jungle areas that flood during the rainy season. It’s a great place to see how nature survives in a changing environment. Then return for dinner.

After a full breakfast, enjoy a fun and safe rafting tour on the Amazon River. You will paddle through the calm waters and explore small jungle streams, moving quietly so you can see animals and birds without scaring them away. After the tour, return to the lodge for lunch. Then, check out and depending on your flight time, you’ll be taken back to Iquitos City and to the airport for your departure.

Prepare for the Amazon: Lightweight, long pants (for sun and insect protection), T-shirts and shorts (for the lodge), a Light rain jacket or poncho, Comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots (closed-toe), Sandals or flip-flops (for use at the lodge), and a Hat or cap (for sun protection).
Pack for Varied Weather: Bring light clothing for warm days and warm layers for chilly nights. Include a rain jacket, especially if traveling from November to March.
Bring Local Currency: Use Peruvian soles (S/). Carry small bills, as many places accept cash only. Find ATMs easily in major towns and cities.
Keep Your Belongings Safe: Stay alert in public areas. Avoid showing valuables, and store items in hotel safes when available.
Learn Basic Spanish: Use simple phrases like ¡Hola! (hello) and ¡Gracias! (thank you). Although English is common in tourist zones, a few Spanish words go a long way.
Check Your Electronics: Use devices with 220V and plugs of types A, B, and C. Bring a universal adapter if needed.
