What makes this tour special
Itinerary
Upon arrival at Viru Viru Airport in Santa Cruz, we will transfer you from the airport to the hotel. At the agreed time, we will tour the Old Town. We will visit the Metropolitan Cathedral, Manzana 1, La Recova craft center, or Arte Campo, and stroll along the different avenues known as Anillos, which divide the city, passing by beautiful squares and historical monuments. Continuing with our program, we will visit the Equipetrol business district and cross the Urubó bridge, a residential area of Santa Cruz. We will enjoy a typical coffee accompanied by pastries from our region.
City tour in Sucre We will head to the airport to take the flight from Santa Cruz to Sucre. Upon arrival, we will transfer to the hotel to drop off our luggage and rest. Afterwards, we will visit some of the city's most emblematic museums: the ASUR Textile Museum, which exhibits traditional and original textiles; San Felipe de Neri, a former convent that now offers impressive panoramic views; the Monastery of La Recoleta, also a panoramic viewpoint; and the House of Liberty, where Bolivia's Declaration of Independence was signed. It is a day to connect with Bolivia's fascinating past and cultural heritage. Return to the hotel.
We depart in private transportation for the city of Potosí, located at the foot of the great Cerro Rico mountain, also declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We will visit the Casa de la Moneda, one of the most important museums in the country, as it was here that the coins used during the colonial era were minted. We will continue directly to Uyuni, where we will arrive at the end of the afternoon.
We depart from Uyuni to the salt flats in a 4×4 vehicle. We begin our adventure with a stop at the Train Cemetery, an unusual landscape of disused locomotives. We continue to the town of Colchani, where salt is processed using traditional methods, and visit a salt processing plant. We enter the Uyuni salt flats and stop at Incahuasi Island. From its summit, surrounded by giant cacti, we can appreciate the surprising expanse of the salt sea and see the majestic Tunupa Volcano. We will then enjoy lunch in the middle of the salt flats. Afterwards, we will head to the town of Coquesa where we will participate in an activity with the local community, learn about the cultivation and harvesting of quinoa, the art of weaving and dyeing, and we will be able to walk with llamas on the edges of the salt flats. Finally, we will watch the sunset and head back to the hotel.
After breakfast, we will depart for the town of Chiquini. We will visit the “Museo de La Llamita” (Llamita Museum), observe salt blocks and sculptures, and enter the Chiquini cave, where we will discover magnificent calcified magma formations. Then we will head to the volcano viewpoint and begin a short 15-minute walk to see the Coquesa Mummies, mummified bodies from the time of the Aymara lords. Return to Uyuni. Check-in at the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
At the scheduled time, transfer to Uyuni Airport to board the flight to La Paz. Upon arrival in Bolivia’s administrative capital, located high in the Andes and surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Altiplano, transfer to the hotel for check-in and accommodation. The rest of the day is free to rest, acclimatize to the altitude, or explore the surroundings at your own pace. You may choose to take a gentle walk through the nearby streets, enjoy local gastronomy, or simply relax at the hotel while taking in the unique atmosphere of one of the highest capital cities in the world.
It is time to conclude this unforgettable journey through Bolivia. According to your flight schedule, transfer from the hotel to the International Airport in La Paz for your onward connection. As your trip comes to an end, you will take with you the memories of breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and authentic local experiences that make Bolivia such a unique destination.
