Depart your Luxor hotel or Nile cruise ship at 07:00 and travel 2.5 hours north through the Nile Valley to the sacred city of Abydos (09:30–11:45), cult center of the god Osiris. With your Egyptologist, explore the 19th-Dynasty Temple of Seti I—renowned for the finest raised limestone reliefs and original polychrome paint in Egypt, the seven sacred chapels, the famous Abydos King List, and the megalithic Osireion behind the temple.

At 11:45, drive 1.5 hours south to Qena / Dendera for a freshly cooked Egyptian lunch (13:15–14:00), then spend two hours exploring the Greco-Roman Temple of Hathor at Dendera (14:00–16:00)—celebrated for its cleaned turquoise astronomical ceiling, the Dendera Zodiac cast, subterranean crypts, and rooftop chapels with panoramic views—before driving 1 hour back to your Luxor hotel by 17:00.
