What makes this tour special
Itinerary
Upon
arrival in Istanbul, the group is welcomed by our representative and checks in
at the hotel. After a short rest, we begin exploring the heart of this
legendary city — the meeting point of Europe and Asia.
We
start with an orientation walk through Sultanahmet Square, surrounded by some
of the greatest landmarks in the world. Here, you’ll admire from the outside
the majestic Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the ancient Hippodrome, once
the stage of Byzantine celebrations and chariot races.
Our
stroll continues toward the Grand Bazaar, one of the oldest covered markets on
earth — alive with the colors, sounds, and scents of centuries of trade.
Perfect for first souvenirs, local sweets, and Turkish delights.
(Breakfast
Included)
After
breakfast, we set out to discover a different — more spiritual and authentic —
side of Istanbul.
Our
morning begins in Balat, one of the city’s most colorful districts, known for
its narrow cobblestone streets, pastel facades, and timeless atmosphere. This
historic neighborhood, once home to Greeks, Armenians, and Jews, tells the
story of coexistence that shaped Istanbul’s soul.
We
then visit some of the most important religious and cultural landmarks
connected to the peoples of the Balkans:
We
then visit some of the most important religious and cultural landmarks
connected to the peoples of the Balkans:
Patriarchal Church of St. George (Ecumenical Patriarchate) — the spiritual
heart of Eastern Orthodoxy and a deeply meaningful site for visitors from
Serbia and the wider Orthodox world.
OR
Church of St. Stephen of the Bulgarians (Iron Church) — an architectural marvel
made entirely of cast iron, standing proudly on the banks of the Golden Horn.
It is a symbol of faith and national pride for Bulgarian pilgrims.
Our
journey continues to Pierre Loti Hill, one of Istanbul’s most beloved panoramic
viewpoints. Visitors can reach the top by cable car (optional) and enjoy
traditional Turkish tea while admiring the breathtaking view over the Golden
Horn — a place where the city’s past and present meet. Overnight
in Istanbul.
