Itinerary
Meet your English-speaking Japanify guide at Saga-Arashiyama Station (JR Sagano Line), North Exit, inside the station beside the distinctive rounded window. Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your booked start time.
Explore the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and the gardens of Tenryu-ji Temple. Continue through the district to the colorful Kimono Forest and Togetsukyo Bridge, with riverside views and local history along the way. There is a lunch break before the visit to Iwatayama Monkey Park, where the uphill walk is rewarded with views over Kyoto.
Allow approximately 5–5.5 hours. Stops and their order may be adjusted for weather, crowds, closures and the group’s pace. Entrance fees for the planned paid stops and your guide are included; train fares, lunch and other food or drinks are extra. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water. The route includes steps, uneven paths and the uphill section to Monkey Park.
