Itinerary

Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be welcomed by your local guide and begin your Bhutan adventure.

Drive towards Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan, enjoying beautiful landscapes along the way. During the journey, visit the historic Tachog Lhakhang Temple, a 15th-century monastery located beside the Paro River, and walk across a traditional suspension bridge featuring an ancient iron chain design.

After arriving in Thimphu and having lunch, begin sightseeing with visits to:

  • Takin Preserve – Home to Bhutan’s national animal, the rare Takin, found only in the Himalayan region.

  • Buddha Dordenma Statue (Kuenselphodrang) – A magnificent 51.5-meter bronze Buddha statue overlooking Thimphu Valley.

  • Simply Bhutan Living Museum – Experience Bhutanese traditions, culture, and lifestyle through interactive activities and cultural performances.

  • Tashichho Dzong – The impressive fortress and important religious center of Bhutan.

Overnight stay in Thimphu.

After breakfast, depart Thimphu and drive towards Punakha, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful valleys.

The scenic route takes you through Dochula Pass (3,100m), famous for its 108 memorial chortens built in honor of Bhutanese soldiers. On clear days, the pass offers spectacular views of the snow-covered Himalayan peaks.

Continue to Punakha and visit:

  • Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple) – A unique pilgrimage site surrounded by beautiful rice fields and traditional villages.

  • Punakha Dzong – Located at the meeting point of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers, this historic fortress is considered one of Bhutan’s most beautiful architectural masterpieces.

Later, enjoy a walk across one of Bhutan’s longest suspension bridges before returning to your hotel in Punakha.

Overnight stay in Punakha.

After breakfast, drive back to Paro through the beautiful Himalayan landscapes and Dochula Pass.

Upon arrival in Paro, enjoy lunch before exploring the cultural treasures of the valley:

  • Ta Dzong (National Museum of Bhutan) – Discover Bhutan’s history, art, and cultural heritage.

  • Rinpung Dzong – A historic fortress monastery offering impressive architecture and beautiful valley views.

Optional experience: Try wearing traditional Bhutanese clothing and capture memorable moments while experiencing local customs.

Overnight stay in Paro.

After breakfast, prepare for the highlight of your Bhutan journey: the famous Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) hike.

Located dramatically on a cliffside approximately 900 meters above the Paro Valley, Tiger’s Nest is Bhutan’s most iconic landmark. According to legend, Guru Rinpoche arrived at this sacred location riding on the back of a tigress and meditated here, making it one of the most important spiritual sites in Bhutan.

The hike takes approximately 5 hours round trip and rewards visitors with incredible views and an unforgettable cultural experience.

Later in the afternoon, visit a Paro Valley viewpoint and enjoy a relaxing traditional Bhutanese herbal hot stone bath at a local farmhouse.

Overnight stay in Paro.

After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward flight.

Your unforgettable Bhutan Cultural Tour comes to an end with wonderful memories of Himalayan landscapes, ancient monasteries, and Bhutanese traditions.
