Rahman Complex

Rahman Complex, also called Halilurrahman Complex, is a group of mosques and other buildings that were built in different eras around the Balikligol in Sanliurfa Province. The first mosque was built in the 13th century, and then in the 18th and 19th centuries, new sections were added to the first one. The complex consists of the Halilurrahman Mosque, the Halilurrahman Madrasa, the Ridvaniye Mosque, the Ridvaniye Madrasa, and a hazire (a kind of cemetery). The Halilurrahman Mosque is the oldest mosque both in the complex and the city. It was built by Muzafferuddin Musa, nephew of Salahaddin-i Eyyubi. Today, the complex is one of the most visited sites in the city.
