Guinea's Garden Town

Kindia sits about 135 kilometers inland from Conakry, in green foothills that supply much of the capital's fruit. Tours of Kindia typically pause at the sprawling central market, stacked with pineapples, mangoes and bundles of the indigo-dyed cloth the town is known for.

Waterfalls Within Reach

The main draw lies just outside town at the Voile de la Mariée, the Bridal Veil falls, which pour off a forested cliff most impressively from July to October after the rains. Guides combine the falls with village stops and short forest walks.

On the Road to the Highlands

Many itineraries treat the town as a first night en route to the Fouta Djallon plateau, breaking up the long drive toward Mamou and Dalaba.
