About Atatürk House Museum – A Timeless Landmark in Adana

Located in the heart of Seyhan’s Kayalıbağ Neighborhood, the Atatürk House Museum is one of the most impressive examples of 19th-century traditional Adana architecture. This beautifully preserved two-storey mansion, built in the classic Ottoman style, offers visitors a unique opportunity to travel back in time and explore the early years of modern Turkey.

A House with Deep Historical Significance

The building originally belonged to Suphi Pasha of the prominent Ramazanoğulları family. It holds a special place in Turkish history:

  • Mustafa Kemal Atatürk first visited Adana on 31 October 1918, where the early ideas of the national struggle began to form.
  • During his second visit on 15 March 1923, Atatürk and his wife Latife Hanım were hosted in this very mansion.

Today, the house serves as a museum dedicated to preserving the memory of these important moments.

What to See Inside

The museum is arranged across two floors, each highlighting different aspects of cultural life and the independence movement.
