The Education Cartoon Museum is housed in a beautifully restored traditional wooden Odunpazarı house, originally built in the early 1900s and once used as a residence. The two-storey building reflects classic local architecture and covers a total area of 265 square meters. Located in Eskişehir’s oldest settlement area, the museum seamlessly blends heritage architecture with contemporary artistic expression.

This museum is a unique institution in Türkiye and operates as an affiliated branch of the Cartoon Art Research and Application Center, the first of its kind in the country.

Exhibitions & Museum Spaces

The museum features a dynamic and multi-layered exhibition layout, including:

• A permanent exhibition from the museum’s cartoon archive
• Temporary exhibition galleries hosting rotating shows
• The Portraits Room
• The Turkish Masters of Cartoon Art Room
• The Eskişehir Cartoonists Room
• A library and research section

Dedicated spaces have also been designed for hands-on cartoon creation and workshops, encouraging active participation.

A Living Museum

In addition to displaying works from its permanent collection, the ground-floor exhibition hall regularly hosts temporary exhibitions by Turkish and international cartoonists. Through frequent changes and new displays, the museum aims to function as a “living museum”, offering visitors a fresh experience with each visit.

Research, Library & Visitor Services

The museum is also used for academic and artistic research, supported by a specialized library. Visitors can purchase books, postcards, posters, and souvenir items related to cartoon art.As with similar specialist museums around the world, the Education Cartoon Museum continues to grow through donations. The museum welcomes contributions such as original cartoons, books, posters, newspapers, and magazines, helping to expand and enrich its collection.
