About Yılmaz Büyükerşen Wax Sculptures Museum

The Yılmaz Büyükerşen Wax Sculptures Museum, founded through the vision of Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Büyükerşen, is Türkiye’s first wax museum, inspired by the world-renowned Madame Tussauds museums found in many countries. The museum officially opened to visitors on 19 May 2013.

The museum features 229 lifelike wax sculptures representing historical figures as well as national and international celebrities, offering visitors an immersive and engaging cultural experience.

Located within the City Museums Complex, the Yılmaz Büyükerşen Wax Sculptures Museum is one of the most iconic attractions associated with Eskişehir and its museums. Due to the intense interest it has attracted since its opening, the museum has played a significant role in enhancing the city’s cultural identity and transforming Eskişehir into a major tourism destination.

From its inauguration to the beginning of 2024, the museum has welcomed over 3 million domestic and international visitors, making it one of the most visited museums in the region.
