Itinerary
Fly into the breathtaking Paro Valley on one of our national carriers, and prepare to be amazed. From your window seat, you will have a glorious view of the snow-capped mountains that surround you. The remarkable and steep descent into the Paro Valley is an awe-inspiring beginning to what will be an adventure of a lifetime.
As the gateway to Bhutan and home to the country's only international airport, Paro is where your journey to the Land of Happiness truly begins. After completing your visa formalities and collecting your baggage, you will be warmly greeted by a representative from Lucky Dragon Tours and Treks.
On the first day of your journey, we will take you on a scenic drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. Along the way, you will get a glimpse of the crystal clear rivers that flow through the valleys and take a brief stop at a temple, crossing an old cantilever bridge.
As you enter the city, you will be greeted by the gigantic 169 ft Buddha statue overlooking Thimphu. The panoramic view of the city and hills from this vantage point never fails to leave visitors in awe.
Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan, is a unique blend of tradition and modernity. The city exudes a natural small-town feel while embracing a new commercial exuberance that challenges the country's natural conservatism
and Shangri La image.
In addition to its rich cultural heritage, Thimphu offers a variety of modern amenities such as cafes, bars, nightclubs, and restaurants. Finding a balance between the esoteric and espresso, the old and the new, is the key to getting the most out of this charming city. Hiking Cheri monastery
Enjoy a hike through the beautiful and beguiling Bhutanese countryside.
Visit the Cheri and Tango Goemba, two beautiful monasteries in the hills between which lies the Thimphu Chu River.
Begin the day with a drive to take a short hike to Cheri and Tango Goempa.
Located 18km north of Thimphu, it takes about 30 minutes to drive to get there, followed by an hour-long walk through shaded rhododendron forests.
Though steep, the trail is well pathed and you can take your time to enjoy the views here. Spot deer and mountain goats, known as jaru along the way.
After marveling at these impressive monasteries, we will be having a picnic lunch by the riverside taking some amazing pictures with the cantilever bridge & stupas by the side.
