History & Culture of Central Anatolia: 4-Day Ankara, Hattusas & Beypazarı Tour
- Best Time to Visit: The ideal months to take this tour are spring (April–June) and autumn (September–November) when the weather is mild and comfortable for exploring historical sites.
- Weather & Clothing: Ankara and Beypazarı have continental climates, meaning warm summers and cold winters. Hattusas, located at a higher altitude, can be windy and cooler, so bringing comfortable walking shoes, layered clothing, a hat, and sunscreen is recommended.
- Walking & Activity Level: This tour involves moderate walking, especially at Hattusas and Ankara Castle, where some uneven terrain may be encountered. Comfortable shoes are essential.
- Local Cuisine: Try regional delicacies such as Beypazarı Kurusu (crunchy bread), stuffed grape leaves, homemade baklava, and local kebabs. Don’t miss the famous carrot juice from Beypazarı!
- Cultural Etiquette:
- When visiting mosques such as Hacı Bayram Mosque, dress modestly (shoulders and knees covered). Women may need to cover their heads with a scarf.
- Respect local customs, especially in traditional villages like Beypazarı, where local artisans appreciate polite interactions and interest in their craft.
