Itinerary

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), our driver will welcome you and transfer you to Planet Lodge in Arusha. The drive takes approximately 1–1.5 hours, depending on traffic.

After checking in, you will have time to relax after your flight. Your safari guide will explain the journey, answer your questions and help you prepare for the adventure ahead. Enjoy dinner and a peaceful night at the lodge before the safari begins.

Duration: Approximately 1–1.5 hours for the airport transfer, plus time to relax at the Planet lodge Arusha.

After breakfast, leave Arusha and travel to Tarangire National Park. Along the way, you will pass local villages, farms and beautiful landscapes typical of northern Tanzania.

Once inside the park, enjoy a game drive through the baobab woodlands and open grasslands. Tarangire is well known for its large elephant herds and the wildlife that gathers around the Tarangire River. Keep an eye out for giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes and, with some luck, lions and leopards.

You will stop at a designated picnic site for lunch before continuing your afternoon game drive. Your guide will choose suitable routes based on wildlife sightings and the time available. In the late afternoon, leave the park and drive to Fanaka Lodge in the Mto wa Mbu area. Check in, enjoy dinner and relax for the evening.

Driving time: Approximately 2.5–3 hours from Arusha to Tarangire, followed by the drive to Mto wa Mbu.

Game viewing: Approximately 5–6 hours.

After breakfast at Fanaka Lodge, we will head towards Serengeti National Park through the beautiful Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you will enjoy views of the highlands, open plains and Maasai pastoral landscapes.

After a packed lunch, we will continue towards the Serengeti. Once inside the park, your guide will begin wildlife viewing along the route, looking for animals such as zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, elephants and lions. In the late afternoon, we will head to Osero Tented Camp for check-in, dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the natural beauty of the Serengeti.

Driving and wildlife viewing: Approximately 6–8 hours, depending on the route and camp location.

Accommodation: Osero Tented Camp.

After breakfast, we will head out for a full day of game drives across the Serengeti plains. With our professional safari guide, we will search for lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs and other wildlife.

We will stop for a picnic lunch at a designated site before continuing our afternoon game drive. Depending on the season, we may encounter large herds of wildebeest and zebras associated with the Great Migration. After a full day exploring the park, we will return to Osero Tented Camp for dinner and our second overnight stay.

Game viewing: Approximately 8–10 hours, including breaks.

Accommodation: Osero Tented Camp.

After an early breakfast at Osero Tented Camp, we will check out and leave the Serengeti for Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy the scenic drive through the changing landscapes of northern Tanzania as we make our way towards the famous Ngorongoro Crater.

Upon arrival, we will descend into the crater for a morning game drive. The crater floor is home to a remarkable variety of wildlife, and we will search for lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest and, if we are fortunate, the endangered black rhino. The crater's open grasslands, woodland areas and water sources create excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing.

We will stop at a designated picnic site for lunch before continuing our wildlife exploration, depending on the time available and park regulations. After completing the crater visit, we will ascend the crater rim and begin our journey to Arusha. In the late evening, we will arrive at Planet Lodge, where you can check in, enjoy dinner and relax after an exciting day of wildlife adventures.

Morning activity: Drive from Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater.

Crater game drive: Approximately 3–4 hours, subject to park regulations and timing.

Enjoy breakfast at Planet Lodge before your driver transfers you to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your flight home. Your pickup time will be arranged according to your flight schedule. Please share your flight details with us in advance so we can organize your transfer.

Airport transfer: Approximately 1–1.5 hours, depending on traffic.

Meals: Breakfast, depending on your departure time.
