Itinerary
You will be picked up from Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport (or your hotel) at 8:00 a.m., and drive for approximately three hours to Tarangire National Park. Enjoy a full-day game drive in this beautiful park, famous for its large herds of elephants, majestic baobab trees, and tree-climbing pythons. The Tarangire River, which gives the park its name, serves as a vital water source attracting a variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, and many other species. Later in the evening, you will drive to your lodge at for dinner and an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, you will pack your belongings into the safari vehicle and begin your journey toward Serengeti National Park. Enjoy an en-route game drive with a packed lunch in the jeep. Along the way, take in the breathtaking views of the Great Rift Valley and Ngorongoro Crater before arriving in the Serengeti around 3:00 p.m.
In the afternoon, experience a sunset game drive in the central Serengeti, where you’ll witness the golden plains come alive with wildlife. The Serengeti’s endless horizons and the great wildebeest migration are among its main highlights, as millions of herbivores, and the predators that follow them, move in search of greener pastures. Your professional driver-guide will ensure you have the best chance to witness this incredible natural event.
Your day will conclude with dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge inside Serengeti National Park.
Migration patterns vary each year, but the best time to see the herds is from June to September, while the calving season runs from January to March. During this time, over a million wildebeests, accompanied by zebras and gazelles, traverse the vast plains in search of fresh grazing and water, followed closely by predators.
After an adventurous day in the wild, you will return to your lodge for a relaxing evening.
After breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive, spotting wildlife in the golden morning light and continuing across the vast plains throughout the day. You will have the chance to see the Big Five, a variety of bird species, and follow the movements of wildlife across different areas of the park. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush while taking in the stunning scenery before continuing with the afternoon game drive.
You will wake up early at 5:45 a.m. to enjoy breakfast while watching the sunrise over Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive, spotting wildlife in the golden light before continuing with a scenic drive toward the Ngorongoro Crater. Along the way, enjoy game viewing across the plains and diverse landscapes. Later, descend into the crater for a game drive with a picnic lunch, where you may spot the Big Five, various bird species, and the rare black rhino in this wildlife-rich area.
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, known for its diverse wildlife, birdlife, and scenic landscapes. Later, drive back to Arusha with a stop for lunch along the way, marking the end of your safari before transfer to the airport for departure.
