6 Days Trabzon City & Cooking Tour

We will pick up from your hotel. We depart for St. Sophia Church/Mosque, a 13th century church and see its extraordinary collections of Byzantine frescoes, depart for Gulbahar Hatun Mosque, Castle and Ataturk’s Mansion (a picturesque hillside retreat), visit Ortahisar Mosque (a Comneni cathedral in the old town). Afternoon we explore the cobbled stone streets of Trabzon. Drive to Boztepe; enjoy our tea from samovar with the panoramic view of the city. We will visit Lake Sera. Then depart for Sumela Monastery, we will visit the 4th century Sumela Monastery which clings to a sheer cliff face in a forest, relax beside a flowing stream at Altindere Valley National Park, we will drive along the Silk Road through the Zigana Mountains which will take us to Karaca Cave, considered to be the most beautiful cave in Turkey for its colors and formations. After the tour return to the hotel. Overnight in Trabzon.

After breakfast we will go to a local restaurant to get a cooking class by the chef of the restaurant. The guide will also explain all the details to us. You will prepare the lunch with Chef and after the preparation you will eat that lunch at the restaurant. In our food menu we will learn local dishes from Trabzon Cuisine which inspire of Turkish cuisines. Of course some desserts and salads will be on the menu. After the lunch we will return to the hotel. Overnight in Trabzon.

We will pick you up from your hotel and go to Hamami (Turkish Bath). This hamam culture dates back to the Roman empire. Today Turkish baths have three sections: cold part, warm part and hot part, like a Roman bath. Also Turkish baths have special staff for the scrub (peeling) ritual. Female staff are called natir and male staff are called tellak in the Turkish language. We will relax and chill. After this local relaxing ritual return to hotel. Overnight in Trabzon.

We will pick up from your hotel and go to Uzungol. Uzungol is a natural dam formed by the closure of the river bed as a result of landslides. Uzungol lake charms people with its beauty and unique scenery. Uzungol is one of the most important tourism centers of both the region and Turkey, whose star has shined recently, and it is a special sanctuary for those fleeing from the stress and chaos of the city. Accommodation, food and drink facilities are located in the center of Uzungol. There are plateaus and a few crater lakes between 1500-3000 metres in the South mountains of the region. Resting facilities, hiking, plant inspection, angling and bicycle tours are also available.

Departing at around 9am, the tour arrives in Uzungol after a 1.5-hour drive passing by unforgettable views along the way. The houses in the village of Sherah blend harmoniously into the landscape, resembling chalets made of wood with red tile roofs. A couple of hours’ free time is given in Uzungol to explore before lunch. After the tour, return to the hotel. Overnight in Trabzon.

After breakfast check out from your hotel and transfer to Airport for your flight back home.
