What makes this tour special
Itinerary
Arrival in Amman. Meet and assist at the airport. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.
Breakfast and departure for a visit to Ajloun Castle, a fortress built in 1185 and later rebuilt in the 13th century by the Mamluks after its destruction by the Mongols. It is a Crusader-era castle situated atop a mountain, offering beautiful views. Continue to visit Jerash, one of the cities of the Decapolis. Jerash is located north of Amman, approximately 45 km and an hour's drive away. During the excursion, we will visit the Arch of Triumph, the Oval Plaza, the Cardo, the colonnade, the Temple of Aphrodite, and conclude at the Roman Theater, known for its wonderful acoustics. The preservation of the ruins of Jerash is still surprising today, providing a good idea of how cities were at that time. Transfer to Amman for a free lunch, then transfer to the Dead Sea. Free time for swimming and mud baths, then return to Amman. Dinner and overnight.
Meeting at the hotel and departure for a panoramic tour of the city of Amman. At the indicated time, departure towards the border with Israel and Palestine, looking for the Jordan River. This day we will dedicate to visiting one of the most mystical and spiritual places in Jordan. We will visit Bethany, the place where Jesus was baptized by Saint John the Evangelist. The Jordanian enclave of Bethany was opened to visitors in 2000, and Pope John Paul II attended its inauguration as a sign of his recognition by the Vatican. Baptismal Site of Jesus "Bethany beyond the Jordan" (Al-Maghtas) The archaeological site located on the eastern bank of the Jordan River, about 9 km north of the Dead Sea, is of immense importance to Christianity because it is recognized as the place where Jesus of Nazareth was baptized by John the Baptist. Continue to Madaba to visit the Orthodox Church of St. George, where the first mosaic map of Palestine is located. Continue to Mount Nebo to admire the panoramic view of the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea from the mountain. This place is important because it was the last place visited by Moses and from where the prophet saw the promised land, which he would never reach. Transfer to Petra. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel. Dinner and accommodation.
Breakfast and departure to the nearby town of Al BEIDA, also known as LITTLE PETRA. Visit this caravanserai. Then a full day dedicated to visiting the Rose City, the capital of the Nabataeans. During the visit, we will see the most important and representative monuments carved into the rock by the Nabataeans: the famous Treasury, the internationally known monument featured in one of the Indiana Jones movies, the Colored Tombs, the Royal Tombs, the Monastery... Petra is one of those places in the world that must be visited at least once in a lifetime. After the visit, return to the hotel in Petra. Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast and departure to Wadi Rum. After 1 hour and 30 minutes of driving, we arrive at the desert of Lawrence of Arabia. The visit lasts two hours and is conducted in unique 4x4 vehicles driven by Bedouins (6 people per car), consisting of a small foray into the lunar landscape of this desert.
