After checking in to the hotel, you can spend the rest of the day relaxing at your hotel or spend a pleasant time in the city center (Meydan), which is full of restaurants, cafes, and shopping opportunities. If you want to extend your stay in Trabzon, you can contact us before or during the tour.
With the Trabzon City Tour, you will witness the historical heritage from Rome, Byzantium, and the Ottoman Empire, and you will get to know the modern city of Trabzon closely. We start our Trabzon City Tour with a visit to the Botanical Garden.
Trabzon Botanic Park, established on 103 decares of land, is the first and only botanical garden of the Black Sea Region. After the joyful time we spent in the park with its rich plant variety and social areas, we move to Trabzon Aquarium. The project, which has the distinction of being the first aquarium in a tunnel in the world, was planned to connect the Zağnos and Tabakhane Valleys. Along the way, you can see the panoramic view of Trabzon Castle, Gülbahar Hatun Mosque and Tomb, Zağnos Valley, Historical Zağnos Paşa Bridge and Ortahisar (Kaleiçi) District. After the aquarium visit, we are moving to Trabzon City Museum.
After visiting the Trabzon City Museum, which presents the history, folklore, and trade of the city from ancient times to the present in chronological order, we move to the Hagia Sophia Mosque.
Hagia Sophia, which is used as a mosque today, was built as a Byzantine church in the 13th century and has a unique value with its early Renaissance frescoes. After seeing the Hagia Sophia Mosque, historical frescoes, and many historical artifacts in its garden, we move to Sera Lake Nature Park for lunch. After a lunch break at a local restaurant in Sera Lake, we move to Boztepe Observation Terrace for a bird's-eye view of the city. You can have a great time on the Boztepe Observation Terrace with its 1200m walking path and 3 glass viewing terraces and watch the city's exquisite sunset view.
At the end of a happy day, Trabzon City Tour ends at your hotel and we give free time until tomorrow's departure.
After breakfast at our hotel, we move to Uzungöl and make our first visit to a tea factory on the way. We learn the story of tea making and the secrets of brewing the best tea, and then we take a shopping break at the factory outlet. While we are ready to start shopping, we take a short shopping break at Sürmene Knife factory outlet on the road. We set off for Uzungöl again along the Solaklı Valley and arrive in Uzungöl, accompanied by the beauties of traditional village houses, tea, and hazelnut gardens.
We start our visit in Uzungöl with the Observation Terrace, then visit the Artificial Waterfalls built to protect the lake from floods. We give you free time to participate in many activities in Uzungöl and its surroundings, and to spend pleasant time in decent restaurants and cafes with lake and nature views. We continue our journey by using the National Park minibus and then the 300m forest road to reach the Sumela Monastery. At the end of the path, historical aqueducts, stone stairs, and visitor social areas welcome you. Before visiting the Sumela Monastery, which has a grandeur and inaccessibility like the medieval castles, we take a short rest break in the social area and enjoy the nature and the scenery.
We visit Sumela Monastery with its main rock church, chapels, student rooms, library, guesthouse, holy spring and many more. After visiting Sumela, we arrive at our tour vehicle and set off again for Zigana Pass. We take our lunch break at a local restaurant on the way.
Zigana Pass, one of the most important passages of the Silk Road, has been the gateway of Eastern Anatolia and Iran to the West throughout history. The New Zigana Tunnel, which was put into service in April 2023 on the Zigana Pass, which still maintains its importance today, is the longest road tunnel in Europe. We arrive at Karaca Cave via the 14.5 km long New Zigana Tunnel.
