About this tour
Discover Sri Lanka’s remarkable wildlife on this immersive 15-day elephant safari and nature journey, combining national parks, scenic landscapes, cultural heritage and unforgettable encounters with the island’s iconic wildlife.
The Sri Lankan elephant (Elephas maximus maximus) is a subspecies of the Asian elephant and one of the country’s most recognizable native animals. Today, wild elephant populations face ongoing pressures from habitat loss, fragmentation and human–wildlife conflict, making responsible wildlife tourism and conservation increasingly important.
Throughout this journey, explore some of Sri Lanka’s most renowned wildlife regions and national parks, where you may have opportunities to observe elephants, leopards, sloth bears, deer, crocodiles and diverse birdlife in their natural habitats. Wildlife sightings always depend on season, weather and natural conditions.
The itinerary may feature destinations such as Udawalawe, Yala, Minneriya, Wilpattu and Lunugamvehera, each offering a different landscape and safari experience. During the dry season, the Minneriya region is particularly known for seasonal gatherings of elephants around its water sources.
Beyond wildlife, the tour also introduces you to Sri Lanka’s cultural heritage, rural landscapes and local conservation stories, creating a balanced journey of safari, nature and cultural discovery.
