Arrival in Frankfurt and reception at the airport through a representative of our company. Pick up the car you rented and drive to Frankfurt City to your hotel. Frankfurt is the fifth largest city and the financial and trasport centre of Germany and the largest financial centre in continental Europe. Accommodation at the selected hotel. Free time to see the city
After breakfast, we suggest
you to head to Limburg (77 km) , a beautiful small
city at the river banks of
the Lahn, one of the main tributaries of the Rhine River which conserves the
charm and timber-framed architecture of the late medieval era as well as the 17th
and 18th centuries. Limburg´s old town is one of the prettiest and best preserved in the region. Take a
look at the city, the old town and the Cathedral, an icon of the city and seat
of the Bishop of the Region. The St. Georg Cathedral (Limburger Dom) is one of
the best example of late Romanesque architecture in Hesse. Then continue to the
city of Cologne, known for its Gothic
cathedral (119 Km). Arrival and check-in at the hotel. Cologne (Köln in german)
is Germany´s fourth-largest city and located
on both sides
of the Rhine River. The city´s famous cathedral is the seat of the catholic Archibishop
of Cologne . Since 1996 the cathedral is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the
afternoon we will take a "cup of coffee" on board a boat and cruise
the romantic Rhine. After the cruise we will walk through the town and visit
the Cathedral. (B).
After breakfast, take the highway in direction to the city of Bremen,
the capital of the federal state of the same name. On the way
you can visit the city of Münster,
the most important in the region of Westphalia, site of one of the oldest
cathedrals in Germany and located in a landscape studded with dispersed
settlement and farms,
the so called “Münsterland”. The
trip continue to Bremen, where we will check-in at the Hotel. (B)
Breakfast at the Hotel. Bremen is a
commercial and industrial city with a major port at the river Wesser. We will
take a guided walking tour of the old city, where we visit the most famous monument
in Bremen, based on a tale by the Brothers
Grimm, the Cathedral
and the pedestrian promenade,
where you will have free time for shopping. In
the afternoon our journey continues to Hamburg. Accommodation at the hotel. (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. Hamburg is the second largest city in
Germany, situated on the river Elbe and the third largest port in Europe. Guided walking tour around the city and
harbour. The visit includes the city hall and the grand church St. Michaelis
and the Warehouse. Then we will go to the harbour promenade, where we will
board a boat and make a harbour tour to see the movement inside
Germany's largest port. At night, you may visit a Musical
(eg The Lion King or Tarzan,
in German, not included in the price). (B)
After breakfast depart for
the Federal Capital of Germany (293 Km). Once in Berlin, accommodation at the Hotel.
Berlin is the largest city in Germany.
After the Second World
War was divided into four districts shared by the Allies who took the
administrative responsibilities for the
city. Since 1961 divided through a wall and since 1989 unified again. Afternoon
guided tour visiting
the most important
attractions, the Brandenburg Gate, the German Parliament
(Reichstag), and the famous Kurfürstendamm. We will also have the chance to see
part of the (in)famous wall. Time for shopping. (B)
After breakfast, stroll
through the old East Berlin, the Cathedral, the Town Hall and the TV tower for a panoramic view of the
city. Free afternoon. We will suggest
you some excursions, like the
Concentration Camp of Sachsenhausen, blind witness
of the horror of the second World War and the Nazi Regime; or you can
visit one of the hundred museums in Berlin, specially the egiptian museum with
valued original pieces. At night you can go for example to the Philharmonic or have drinks
at Potsdam Square (Potsdamer
Platz) or the Sony Center (not included) (B).
Breakfast at the hotel. Leave early in the morning to the city of Potsdam,
the capital of the State of Brandenburg, (24 km, 15
miles) south from Berlin Center. Potsdam has several claims to national and
international notability. In Germany, it had the status Windsor has in Britain because
it was residence of Prussian Kings and German Kaisers, until 1918. Around the
city there are a series of interconnected lakes and unique cultural landmarks,
in particular parks and palaces of Sanssouci, the largest World Heritage Site in
Germany, place that is included
in our guided city tour. At
the end of the afternoon, return to Berlin. (B)

In the morning we will head to the city of Dresden (194 Km), in eastern Germany.
Dresden has a long history
as the capital and royal residence
of the Electors and Kings of
Saxony, who for centuries furnished the city with cultural and artistic
splendor. The city was known as the Jewel Box, because of its baroque and
rococo city center. After accommodation in the hotel, walk through the city
center where we will see the Cathedral, the Old Castle, the Fürstenszug, a
large mural of a mounted procession of the rulers of Saxony
and the Semper Opera and its old narrow streets. Afternoon at leisure. (B)
Breakfast. Departure
towards Erfurt (227 Km), the capital of the state of Thuringia and the main city nearest to the geographical centre of Germany,
where we will visit among others, the Cathedral, the Church of San Severino,
both with valuable treasures worth
seeing. The program also includes the Augustinian Convent, where Martin Luther
spent some years of his life and the Petersberg Citadel, built between 1664 and
1707 with a magnificent view of the region. Continue to
Weimar, a city where Germany´s first democratic constitution was signed after
the First World War, giving its name to the Weimar Republic period in german
politics, of 1918-1933. However, the city was also the focal point of the german Enlightenment and home of the
leading characters of the literary genre
of Weimar Classicism, the writers
Goethe and Schiller. (B)
Breakfast at the Hotel. Before leaving
the airport for your flight back home, we will visit the center of Frankfurt am Main (274 Km), Germany's
financial capital. There we
will see the City Hall, the Zeilgalerie, mall with interesting sights to the
Zeil shopping street and skyscrapers, and stroll along the river Main (Main).
After check-in at the airport, end of our services. (B)
