Itinerary
Morning Departure: The tour departs between 7:45 AM and 8:00 AM from the official Reserv. Cusco Srl. office. You will travel by van enjoying panoramic views of Cusco, Chinchero, and the Sacred Valley until reaching the high mountain pass of Abra Malaga (4,350 meters).
Downhill Biking: From the pass, you will gear up for a long, thrilling paved descent by mountain bike, dropping thousands of vertical feet directly into the tropical cloud forest environment.
Afternoon Rafting: Upon arriving in Santa Maria, you have the option to join a whitewater rafting excursion on the Urubamba River.
Accommodation: Overnight stay in a local lodge in Santa Maria.
Jungle Trekking: Following a fresh, local fruit breakfast, you will embark early on a full-day hike along authentic pathways.
Flora & Culture: The trail winds through dense vegetation where you will pass local coffee, fruit, and sacred coca leaf plantations while witnessing sections of original Inca stonework.
Cocalmayo Hot Springs: In the late afternoon, the trail leads toward Santa Teresa, where you can unwind and soothe your muscles in the thermal pools of the Cocalmayo Hot Springs.
Accommodation: Overnight stay in Santa Teresa.
Morning Zip-lining: You can kickstart the day with an optional high-flying zip-line adventure crossing the valleys.
River & Bridges: Around 9:45 AM, the trek continues across suspension bridges spanning the Vilcanota River.
Hidroeléctrica Walk: After lunch, you will follow the flat hiking path alongside the railway tracks from the Hidroeléctrica station into the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo).
Accommodation: Overnight stay in a hotel at the base of the citadel.
Citadel Tour: Wake up very early to catch the shuttle bus up to the archaeological park. You will enjoy a comprehensive guided tour of the Machu Picchu Sanctuary, exploring its historic plazas, temples, and terraces.
Return Journey: After exploring the ruins, you will take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes for lunch before boarding the afternoon train to Ollantaytambo, followed by a van transfer back to Cusco.
