Itinerary
08:30 You will be picked up from your hotel in Colombo. Pickup from Colombo hotels will be done at 08:30am, and pickup from other cities will be done at 11:00am.
13:00 Arrive at Simpson's Forest and check in to your room before enjoying an authentic Sri Lankan lunch, followed by a cookery demonstration at the Gamagedara, a lovely outdoor dining area that offers a traditional Kamatha dining experience in the cool climate of the Hill Country. After lunch, speak with the resident naturalist and learn some interesting stories about the surrounding Simpson's Forest.
15:00 You will be taken to a tea plantation to enjoy tea plucking with the estate workers.
16:30 After the tea-plucking experience, you will start a short hike through the plantation to an area with beautiful views of the surrounding villages, where you may encounter a variety of flora and fauna. 17:15 Arrive at a lovely viewpoint and enjoy the surrounding scenery over high tea.
18:15 Begin the last leg of your walk back, reaching the hotel at 18:30. 19:00 Enjoy a 15-minute foot or head-and-shoulder massage at the spa.
20:00 Enjoy a candlelit dinner by the pool, with a heavenly view of the surrounding plains blending into the starry night sky. One glass of wine will be served with dinner.
06:00 Get up early and enjoy the morning sunlight blending with the mist.
07:00 Enjoy a champagne breakfast at one of the outdoor dining locations.
08:30 Check out from the hotel and proceed to Sembuwatta Lake, a tourist attraction 10 kilometers from the resort, adjacent to the Campbell's Lane Forest Reserve. This paradise-like lake of natural spring water is one of the major attractions of the Hill Country, set amid sprawling tea gardens that reflect the environment at its most magnificent. Walk around the lake and enjoy the climate and scenery.
11:30 Leave Sembuwatta and proceed towards your hotel in Kandy. (If the pickup was from Colombo, drop-off in Colombo is included free of charge.)
