About this tour
Embark on a breathtaking full-day excursion from Cusco to the stunning Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain. Your journey begins with an early morning pickup between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. from your hotel in the historic center, heading south toward Cusipata for a hearty breakfast.
We then continue our drive to the Palcoyo parking lot. The trek is wonderfully accessible: after a short 10-minute walk, you will catch your first magnificent views of the colorful mountain ranges. Continuing with an easy 40-minute walk, we will reach the highest viewpoints at approximately 4,900 meters (16,076 feet) above sea level.
Please note: Due to the high altitude, prior acclimatization of at least 2 to 3 days in Cusco is strongly recommended. This tour is not suitable for pregnant women or individuals with severe heart or respiratory conditions.
After exploring the unique colored ridges and stone forests, we return to our transport and head back to Cusipata for a delicious local buffet lunch. The entire day trip lasts approximately 13 hours, concluding with a convenient drop-off in Cusco around 5:00 p.m. at Plaza Regocijo.

Itinerary
4:00–5:00 a.m.: Scheduled pickups from hotels in the historic center of Cusco to board our comfortable shared tourist van.
We’ll set off toward the southern valley to Cusipata (approx. 1.5 hours), where we will enjoy a hearty breakfast. Afterward, we continue along the mountain roads for about an hour until we reach the Palcoyo parking lot, the starting point of our trek.
After a short 10-minute walk, you will catch your first glimpse of the colorful mountain ranges. Continuing with an easy 40-minute walk, we will reach the highest viewpoints (approx. 4,900 meters / 16,076 feet) to admire the stunning landscape.
