Itinerary

Your Rainbow Mountain adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Cusco’s city center. From there, we will travel south through scenic Andean landscapes, passing traditional villages and mountain valleys on the way to Cusipata, where you will enjoy a local breakfast before continuing to the starting point of the hike.

Once we arrive at the trailhead, we will begin the hike toward Rainbow Mountain, also known as Vinicunca. Along the way, you will walk through high-Andean valleys surrounded by llamas, alpacas, adobe houses, colorful hills, and impressive views of the Andes. Your guide will share interesting information about the local communities, the natural environment, and the mineral formations that give the mountain its famous colors.

After reaching the Rainbow Mountain viewpoint, located at over 5,000 meters above sea level, you will have time to admire the colorful landscape, take photos, rest, and enjoy panoramic views of the Ausangate snow-capped mountain, one of the most sacred peaks in the Andean world.

After enjoying the views, we will begin the descent along the same route and return to our tourist transport. Then, we will continue to a local restaurant to enjoy lunch before driving back to Cusco. The tour ends with drop-off near the city center in the late afternoon.
