After breakfast at 08.00 am, you will meet with your driver/ guide at the reception for a briefing before driving to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Uganda.

Later you will proceed for a short Kigali City Tour Experience which will include a visit to Gisozi genocide memorial site.

Kigali Genocide Memorial 

This is an extremely moving, challenging, educational, and ultimately inspiring memorial and a great place to understand the cause, tragedy, and successful rebuilding post-genocide.  The reconciliation and rebuilding have been miraculous, and these memorials are built to inform, educate and prevent such a tragedy to ever occur again.

The tour is very transparent and educational but very somber and humbling when you realize that over 250,000 deceased are buried on the site of the memorial.  Guaranteed you will feel every emotion during this visit.

The most common question that goes through your mind is “would I be capable of that level of forgiveness if I found myself in this situation.”  That’s a true inspiration.

After the tour, we will  transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park (4.5 hours) en route lunch at muhabura hotel famous for good snacks and you get a chance to visit a room where Dian Fossey used to have her nights and called it her second home when she was a way from the forest during the gorilla habituation experience today you will get some brief back ground of Dr Dian Fossey and her life time in Rwanda with Gorillas.

After lunch we will continue our drive via Cyanika boarder, the road is good to the boarder and part of Uganda after crossing the road is good and later you will drive to a dusty road and a bit bumpy to Lake Mutanda Resort.

We will have an early breakfast, carry your packed lunch and jump in your vehicle for 40 minutes drive to Bwindi headquarters and the starting point for briefing and meet with excellent and well informed local guides and will keep in touch with the advance group (trackers) the guides will give a talk on the etiquette of gorilla tracking basing on their experience with gorillas.

We then hike into the forest to where the gorillas were seen the night before from that point with the communication of the advance group. The trek can take from 2 to 6 hours. The terrain is rough and at times muddy although the hike is physically demanding the beauty of the forest surrounding scenery make the trekking worthy.

Once the gorillas are located all fatigue is forgotten, as the experience is often described as being the most profound natural history experience in the world.

Remember to hire a porter to help you currying your back pack and can give you a hand during hiking where possible. Have your packed lunch along the way and after your trek, return to the lodge for refreshment and relax.

This morning after breakfast you will check out from your lodge, proceed back to Rwanda (Kigali) via Cyanika border 4.5 hours’ drive. Arrival in Kigali, you will have your lunch at Hotel de mille Collins Rwanda or Chez Robert for African food test.

Depending on your outbound flight time we can take you straight to the airport.  Or if early we can assist you in souvenir and craft shopping, recommend and take you to the best restaurants in Kigali to have dinner before transferring you to Kigali airport for your flight back home.
