Tour Overview
The project is a wildlife rescue center located in the Ecuadorian rainforest, supported by volunteers from around the world. We collaborate with the Environmental Police (UPMA) and the Ministry of the Environment in the fight against wildlife trafficking and abuse. Founded in 2006, the non-profit organization focuses on the conservation and protection of Amazonian flora and fauna. The center receives animals confiscated due to illegal trafficking or donated by their owners. These animals are evaluated by specialized staff to determine if they can be released back into the wild, and if not, they are provided with an environment as close as possible to their natural habitat. It exclusively houses Amazonian wildlife, including nine species of primates, two species of cats, three species of rodents, and a diversity of birds, reptiles, and other small mammals.
Highlights
- Work directly with rescued animals, including feeding, cleaning, and providing enrichment activities.
- Play a vital role in giving rescued animals a second chance at life and helping them return to their natural habitat when possible.
- Develop new skills, build lifelong friendships, and create unforgettable memories.
