Hagia Triada Greek Orthodox Church

Once, there was a Greek Orthodox cemetery and hospital on the site of the church, but they were demolished to meet the community's need for a church. The Ottoman Greek architect P. Kampanaki designed the church, and it was built between 1876 and 1880. It is a neo-baroque style church, has twin bell towers instead of the usual ones, and a large neo-gothic facade dome. After the fall of Constantinople in 1453, the Hagia Triada was the first domed Christian church allowed to be built in the city. Painter Sakellarios Megaklis painted the interior decorations, and sculptor Alexandros Krikelis generated the marble works.
