Kayseri Ulu Mosque

Kayseri Ulu Mosque, also called Sultan Mosque or Camii Kebir, was built during the Danishmends' rule in the 12th century. It has a longitudinal, rectangular plan shape, the dome is in front of the mihrab, and with these architectural features, it is the first mosque in which the tradition of the Great Seljuks is alive in Anatolia. The fountain on the east side of the mosque was probably built in the 18th century. The mosque has three gates: north, east, and west. The north gate is on display in the Ethnography Museum.
