Selcikler Ruins

Selcikler is actually a district in Usak Province of Turkey. It is the house of ancient Sebaste city which was founded by Roman Emperor Augustus in 20 BC. During the Roman period it was one of the 12 significant cities of Phrygia region. It became the bishopric center during the 9th century AD and had its most magnificent period during the Byzantine period. The region is ruled after the 11th century, and today the ruins can be visited. Evrenli Natural Park and the Payamalani Archeological Site can be visited in the district, too.
