Thracian Tombs

Thracian Tombs were built for the elite members of Thracian society and were intended to be used for burials and as a place for offerings to the gods. The elaborate frescoes and decorations that adorn the tombs are renowned for giving insight into the Thracian people's beliefs and practices. The Kazanluk region of Bulgaria is home to many of the tombs and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Kazanluk Tomb, also called the Tomb of the Thracian King, is the most well-known of these tombs, and it has some of the best-preserved frescoes from the time.
