Kosovo Prizren Tours

Prizren is Kosovo's prettiest and most historic town, where a stone Ottoman bridge crosses the river below a hillside of minarets, church towers and red roofs. Climb to the Kaljaja fortress for the view, wander the old bazaar, and step into the frescoed medieval churches.

The League of Prizren House

The building where Albanian delegates met in 1878 to found the League of Prizren, an early push for national autonomy, now holds a small museum on the movement and is one of the town's more significant historical sites beyond its churches and mosques.

Dokufest and the Sharr Mountains Backdrop

Every August, Prizren's cinemas and courtyards host Dokufest, a documentary film festival that fills the old town with an outdoor screening buzz unusual for a place this size. Behind the rooftops, the Sharr Mountains rise sharply, giving the town a hemmed-in, alpine feel rare among Balkan towns of similar size. The domed Sinan Pasha Mosque on the riverbank remains the most recognizable landmark on any walk through the center.
