Itinerary

Arrival in Nairobi, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, an Inclusive Holidays Africa representative will meet you and escort you to your hotel.

Our representative will help you through check-in and make sure you are settled in well.

A premium wildlife resort strategically located just off the Mombasa road overlooking the Nairobi National Game Park. Centrally positioned between the international airport and the city center, this is the only hotel bordering the wilds of the National Park.

Lunch: On your own around at a local restaurant.

Accommodation: OLE SERENI HOTEL

Meal Plan: Bed & Breakfast basis

A hearty early morning breakfast then drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve, offering wonderful scenery and plenty of game. We arrive at our camp to a very warm welcome for lunch, and some leisure. This afternoon is the moment we have been longing for –we depart on an exciting game-viewing drive. The Rolling plains and grasslands, stretching far into the horizons as far as the eye can see are home to the black-manned lion, the savannah elephant, the Cape buffalo, wildebeests, the elusive leopard, cheetah, the spotted & striped hyena, the rhino, topi, Burchell’s zebra, the Maasai giraffe among many others. The Mara game reserve can never disappoint. One is spoilt by the variety of bird and wildlife species in this game reserve. For a long time, Mara Game Reserve has stubbed her authority as the ‘granary ’ of wildlife in Kenya.

Accommodation:          ASHNIL CAMP MASAI MARA

Meal Plan:                    Full board basis.

Optional Balloon Safari: Today’s adventure begins just before dawn. Flames from the hot air balloon burners light the darkness as the crew inflate their craft. The first, pink tongues of sunlight flicker across the skies and the hot air balloon fills then rises. Suspended in a basket beneath the rainbow-colored canopy, you're off for a game-viewing adventure with an entirely different perspective. Apart from the occasional hiss of the burners, a lion's roar, elephants crashing through the bush, and baboons perched at the tips of the trees startled and screeching to see something above them, the flight above the Masai Mara plains is magically silent.

At the end of the flight, the passengers are treated to a champagne breakfast in the bush, complete with flowers. China and crystal are set out on the table that is placed under a convenient acacia tree. The finishing touch to the flight is a game drive back to the camp, and the possibility of seeing the same pride of lions, or herd of elephants that had been viewed while ballooning. A flight certificate is issued on completion of the balloon safari.

Full-day adventure with morning and afternoon game drives.

Be on the lookout for the big five that Maasai Mara is famous for. These include the lion, savannah (African) elephant, the Cape buffalo, the leopard, and the black rhino. In the early 20th century, Kenya was a famous hunting destination. Killing any of the big five game one pride, a sense of class, a feeling of heroism. We may even be so lucky to witness a leopard or a cheetah sprint and make a kill!

We return to the camp before dusk.

Accommodation:          ASHNIL CAMP MASAI MARA

Meal Plan:                    Full board basis

After breakfast check out and drive to Lake Naivasha fringed by thick papyrus. The lake is almost 13 km across, but its waters are shallow with an average depth of five metres. Lake area varies greatly according to rainfall, with an average range between 114 and 991 sq km. At the beginning of the 20th Century, Naivasha completely dried up and effectively disappeared. The resulting open land was farmed, until heavy rains a few years later caused the lake to return to existence, swallowing up the newly established estates. The region surrounding the Lake is well worth exploring. There are two smaller lakes nearby, Oloidien, and Sonachi, a bright green crater lake. Arrive in time for check-in and lunch. The afternoon will be spent at leisure or undertaking one of the optional activities.

Accommodation:          LAKE NAIVASHA SOPA LODGE.

Meal Plan:                    Full board basis.

Today after breakfast, check out and drive to Amboseli National Park - set in rolling savannah scenery, it is dwarfed by the presence of the pink-tinged, snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest freestanding volcanic mountain in the world and topped by one-fifth of all the ice in Africa. Against this magnificent backdrop roam vast herds of 'giant' elephants accompanied by a kaleidoscope of other fabulous beasts - lion, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, baboon, gazelle hippo, and wildebeest. Amboseli National Park is also an ornithological paradise with over 400 species of birds, all manner of reptilian, flora and fauna, and some of the most soul-searing views in Africa. Arrive at your lodge in time for check-in and lunch. After lunch, we embark on an afternoon game-viewing drive in search of the 'big five' among other animals.

Accommodation:          OL TUKAI LODGE

Meal Plan:                    Full board basis.

Drive in the shadows of the great Mount Kilimanjaro and through wildlife reserves and see the open savannah and its animals, such as rhinos and elephants. On the way, west of the Chyulu gate of Tsavo West National Park, are the spectacular Shetani lava flows. ‘Shetani’means ‘devil in Kiswahili: the flows were formed only a few hundred years ago and local peoples believed that it was the devil himself emerging from the earth. This vast expanse of folded black lava spreads for 50 sq km across the savannah near the Chyulu Hills, looking strangely as if Vesuvius dropped its comfort blanket here. Lunch en route to Mzima Springs to experience the underwater observatory to see fish called Barbal and some crocodiles. With a game viewing route proceed to Taita Hills Wildlife Conservancy arriving at your overnight lodge famed for being among the World's Most Photographed Lodges located in the heart of the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary overlooking a waterhole and the vast Tsavo plains.

Accommodation:          SALT LICK LODGE.

Meal Plan:                    Full board basis

Breakfast at leisure before a transfer to Voi Standard Guge Railway (SGR)  Terminal, to board at 11:00 am Madaraka Express train to Mombasa departing at 12:08 pm. The train has large windows that allow one to enjoy beautiful vistas of hills, plains, the Yatta Plateau (the world’s longest lava flow), and possibly wildlife. The journey will take you through magical encounters as you get to experience our biodiversity and a fantastic chance to see more of real Kenya. Upon arrival at the Mombasa Railway Terminus, you will be transferred to the Hotel, which takes approximately 45 minutes.
