The journey continues to the scenic highlands of Nyahururu, featuring the breathtaking Thompson Falls, before heading to Naivasha to explore the fascinating ecosystems of the Great Rift Valley.
With a balance of academic exploration, team-building activities, and adventure, including a visit to Hell’s Gate National Park, this tour offers a well-rounded and memorable learning experience. Itinerary
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta
International Airport, students are warmly received and transferred to their
hotel for check-in.
An orientation session introduces Kenya’s
geography, safety guidelines, and program objectives, followed by light
team-building activities.
After breakfast, students visit
Nairobi National Park for a guided game drive focusing on urban ecosystems and
wildlife conservation.
Continue to the Giraffe Centre and
David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to learn about endangered species protection and
rehabilitation.
Overnight in Nairobi
After an early
breakfast, students will be picked up from their hotel and depart Nairobi at
approximately 0700hrs, travelling along the scenic Thika Superhighway through
the pineapple-growing regions of Thika.
En route, the group will
stop at the Equator Line Nanyuki for an
interactive demonstration of the Coriolis Effect. Students will observe how
water behaves differently in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, gaining
practical insight into Earth’s rotation and geographical concepts. There will
also be an opportunity to obtain a certificate of participation.
The journey then
continues to Nyahururu, where students will visit the iconic Thomson Falls, a 74-meter (243 ft) waterfall
along the Ewaso Nyiro River originating from the Aberdare ranges. Here, students
will study river systems, erosion processes, and waterfall formation.
For a deeper
experiential learning opportunity, students may take a guided walk along the
trail to the base of the falls for closer observation of the physical geography
and surrounding ecosystem. The area also features natural pools that support
wildlife such as hippos, offering an introduction to aquatic habitats and
biodiversity.
Lunch will be arranged at a
nearby restaurant. After the excursion, students will proceed to their hotel
for check-in, relaxation, and evening reflection on the day’s learning
experiences.
After breakfast, depart Nyahururu and proceed to
Aberdare National Park.
Upon arrival, transfer to a lodge within the park, uniquely
positioned overlooking a floodlit waterhole.
Students will learn about montane forest ecosystems,
biodiversity, and conservation practices in highland environments. Wildlife
observation is conducted from the lodge decks, offering a safe and structured
learning experience.
The evening includes guided discussions and reflection
as students observe nocturnal wildlife activity.
After breakfast, travel to Lake
Naivasha via scenic Rift Valley landscapes.
Enjoy a guided boat ride exploring
freshwater ecosystems, birdlife, and hippo habitats, with emphasis on
ecological balance and human-wildlife interaction.
After breakfast, visit Hell's Gate National Park for a guided cycling or walking safari, focusing on volcanic formations and geothermal features.
Later, return to Nairobi for a farewell dinner and reflection session.
Overnight in Nairobi
After breakfast, students participate
in final presentations and reflection sessions to consolidate their learning
experience.
Thereafter, transfer to the airport for departure
